Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) is also known by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The corporation is the biggest civic organization in India.  The MCGM was established in the year 1888. The corporation has responsibility to look over the street lighting, lighthouses, public health, hospitals, sewerage

disposal, and security. The corporation has also responsibility to manage and run the primary schools in the city. Now, the corporation run over 1000 schools in Mumbai.
